1.Chicken pox (varicella) is a highly contagious infection. Has your child been exposed recently to someone who is known to have chicken pox?
2. The clinical manifestations of varicella in healthy children generally develop within 15 days after the exposure and typically include inital symptoms of fever (measured by a thermometer), malaise, or pharyngitis, loss of appetite, followed by the development of a generalized vesicular rash ( air of fluid filled vesicles all over body), usually within 24 hours. The vesicular rash of varicella, which is usually itchy, appears in successive crops over several days. Does your child have any of these symtoms? If a rash is present, kindly upload a picture.
3. Has your child received the varicella vaccine due between 12-15 months?
