Resolved question:
ophthalmogolist
I recently went to local eye glass place at the mall, and they are referring me to a Glaucoma specialist.
I have IOP 17mm and my angles are OD 2-3 and OS 3. They told me that 60% of
doctors would not even refer me. I am not big on getting stuff done that absolutely doesn't
have to be done immediately.
Is this a common practice? I am very nervous of having a comprehensive eye exam where
gonioscopes, etc... are involved. They said the optic nerve looked good as well. Many thanks.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Yes ice pick headaches are the most severe attacks mostly generating from migraine, but since the attacks are infrequent and short mostly no management is required. Your description does seem like ice pick headache. If it happens only once a week, it can be ignored. Only when the attacks start getting frequent, it needs intervention. After a neurology review, if required Indomethacin is particularly effective in controlling Ice Pick Headaches. Some doctors prefer melatonin, but Indomethacin gives good symptomatic relief.
If it is not hampeing your quality of life then it does not need intervention.
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards.
