Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I can understand why seeing a white hair may cause concern but I would like to reassure you that it does not imply all your hair will turn white soon. Plucking a white hair will simply allow a new white hair to grow in its place. This is because your hair turns white when the pigment cells in the follicle surrounding the hair die. Therefore plucking the white hair will only cause another (1) white hair to replace it because the pigment cells are not producing pigment which gives your hair its color. I would like to reassure you that your surrounding hairs will not turn white until their own follicles’ pigment cells die.
With regards to what you can do, I would advise you to cut it carefully. Plucking will cause undue harm to the hair follicle and when done repeatedly over a wide area can potentially lead to a bald patch.
Hope this helps, feel free to discuss further
