Not before it started from last year. Actually, I also have acid reflux but now it is somewhat controlled but since then I have sore throat. I was taking omeprazole 20mg twice a day for my acid reflux but now I have stopped taking that as I can feel little relief from acid reflux.

Hello,
Thank you for the follow up.
Did your ENT surgeon recommend you to remove the tonsils?
With only a one year history of pain in the tonsil, it might be controlled by antibiotics such as Augmentin ( Amoxycillin + Clavulanic Acid 650 mg twice daily for 7- 10 days ). Also the GERD with acid reflux might be causing irritation in the mucosa leading to inflammation of tonsils.
If these issues are addressed then the inflammation can be controlled.
I will advise you to continue with Omeprazole and also try a course of Cap. Augmentin 650 mg twice daily for 7-10 days.
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards.
