Hi,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
Though the pain you have described can occur in pancreatic problems, there are other causes as well which can cause similar pain in that area. Diseases involving the kidneys/urinary tract and a penetrated peptic ulcer can cause similar pain.
An ultrasound scan of the abdomen, serum amylase, lipase test and an upper GI endooscopy may have to be done for evaluation.
However, it does not require an emergency room visit. You can consult your primary care physician in the morning.
I hope that answers your question. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
