Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concerns and anxiety.
Let's start with the first exposure. It's been 14 months now, and all the tests E-Z Trust HIV and the rapid screening ( ELISA ) test have all been negative. That rules out HIV completely and you should not worry about it at all. ELISA is 95-99 % sensitive, and by the end of 3 months from exposure, it will easily pick up if there is any HIV antigen in the serum. You have taken tests beyond 3 months, and all are negative,so HIV is ruled out.
Now regarding your second exposure, it is a good thing that both of you have been negative on the kit. As you know, and I will also like to reinforce kindly avoid unprotected sex in the future, because even without ejaculation, there can be traces of seminal fluid which can enter and transmit STIs.
I think you have also taken a test at the end of first month from the second exposure, so HIV is ruled out here too.
Now regarding your sore throat, and small cervical lymph node enlargement, it is not relatd to HIV in any way, and is an independent symptom. Sometimes you can catch infections frequently, and that seems to be the case. I will advise you to take a second set of antibiotic preferably Cap. Augmentin ( Amoxycillin 500 mg + CV 150 mg ) 650 twice a day after meals for 7 days. It is very good for recurrent URTIs and it will help in resolving the infection.
The other symptoms such as anxiety, palpitations should settle down now, knowing that HIV has been completely ruled out in your case.
I know you have been anxious for a long time, and it will take some more time for you to be convinced, however with my expert professional opinion, I can guarantee HIV has been ruled out in your case. So please avoid suicidal thoughts, you have a long life ahead of you.
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards.
Patient replied :
This is the rapid test kit that I've used. Is it reliable?
Sometimes i noticed that a stain or a faint positive line will appear on 1 or 2 of the same test kits which i've kept more than 10 hours. That only happens to 2 out of more than 20 of the EZ Trust test kits that I've used so far. Should I be concern if the stain or a faint positive line appeared after 10 or 24 hours?
Thanks

Hello,
No please do not worry about a line that appears after so long.
If it was positive the line would have been present withing minutes of trying the test.
So kindly do not worry.
Regards.
