Will ticks result of hike cause LYME DISEASE?

Resolved Question:

I went on a camping trip this past weekend and got several ticks as a result of a hike. Within the first 3 hours I found and pulled off the first of the ticks. 10 hours after I assume I got the ticks, I located several more ticks (I think 6 - 8) and removed them from my body. However, as I panicked, I pulled them off by hand. Most came off with their heads intact but I'm worried that some of them did not. I'm worried about the chance of infection and/or possible Lyme disease. Are the attached bite marks cause for worry? Most have scabbed over since the ticks were removed.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
I have reviewed the images and there are quite a few bites. There is always a possibility of acquiring Lyme disease from such tick bites. In most cases, there will be a red rash around the bite area, and that warrants immediate treatment. The other signs would be fever, headache, tingling at the site of the bite, joint pains, e.t.c
If you do not develop any of these symptoms within 7 days of the bites, there is no cause of concern.
Just watch out for the development of the rash.
Hope this was helpful,
Regards.
