Will replacing RADIAL HEAD helps turning wrist after injury?

Resolved question:
I had a motorcycle accident which cause the Radius head to be removed by surgery in my right arm. The accident pushed my radial bone and ulna bone past my humerus and damaged the radial head.
My problem is I cannot turn my wrist palm up or palm down , it mostly stays in a "handshake" type form.
dr says replacing radial head would push ulna bone back into place (not looking poped up) .
If my radial head is replaced, would it allow me to turn my wrist again?

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have read your query with diligence.
It looks that you have dislocation of elbow.
There is also associated fracture of head of radius.
Such type of injury changes the relation between radius and ulna bone of forearm.
Your surgeon is right in saying that for better functioning of your forearm and wrist the head of radius should be replaced. This will help in maintaining normal relationship between these two bone.
Hope this will help you

Yes I did have a dislocation but it was put back into place. But I still cannot turn my wrist. I was just wondering if there was any other option without getting another surgery in my arm to be able to move my wrist fully again, I do unserstand what you are saying about the radius head replacement.
Thanks for your answer.

Hello,
Excision of head of radius is other option, this is done in case of multiple pieces of head but in this case there may not be complete gain of range of movement at your wrist.
Hope this was helpful,
Regards.

Sorry I didn't understand what you meant by saying "Exision of head raadius is other option" cause it was already removed. I was wondering if there was any other option besides inserting a radius head prosthesis to regain wrist movement.

Hello,
Thank you for the follow up.
If head of radius is already excised then replacement of head radius with a prosthesis is only choice for proper functioning of your hand.
Hope this helps,
