Hello.
Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have noted your symptoms and MRI brain findings.
I agree with your neurologist that mega cisterna magna is an incidental finding and there is no need to worry about it. It is found in many normal people and radiologist may not always report this finding. So, in the previous MRIs, they may have just left out a mention of this.
This is not suggestive of arachnoid cyst or any other cyst.
Your symptoms are due to injury and you would get better over time.
I hope it helps.
Feel free to discuss further,
Best wishes,

Thank you so much!! I very anxious about this and that's why I joined two medical sites to inquire. I'm not usually an anxious person, however since these symptoms started this also has occured. Prior to this I was very active and in shape. I assume that the dizziness I have when turning my head is coming from the neck. The neurologist thinks it's a combination or the neck and post concussion regarding the dizziness and vertigo. He noticed nystagmus but said that can come from the neck, is this so? Also been to an ent and do not have bppv.
Last question just to be certain one can not just develop the mega cisterna magna correct?
Thank you and these should be my last questions.
Thank you for getting back.
Yes, your symptoms are due to neck injury and post concussion. A neck problem usually does not cause nystagmus.
Mega cisterna magna is always from birth, and one can not just develop it.
