Hello,
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern
Unfortunately in today's world, parents expect their kids to be toppers in academics. The expectations are very high. So it is a relative comparison. There is a mismatch between your expectations and the child's academic performance. The question that needs to be answered is - Which of the two are misplaced?
Assuming that your expectations regarding his academic performance are appropriate or within his capability, child requires an evaluation of his IQ. We also need to evaluate his emotions and perceptions. This can be best done by a CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST.
Child psychologists deal with normal variants of child's behaviour. They will make efforts to understand the primary and secondary motives behind child's actions and suggest likely solutions.
Hope this helps
