Time period for symptoms to develop after HIV exposure.

Resolved Question:

I have a question on the time period for symptoms to develop after an HIV exposure. I'm a little confused by the "with 2-4 week" statements. I had a potential exposure and felt flu like symptoms at 6 hours, vomiting at 24 hours and swollen lymph glands in my neck at 96 hours. These continue to persist after 9 days. I plan on getting tested at 30 days. SO my question is does the retrovirus start to develop symptoms this quickly?

The symptoms you felt are way too soon, in most cases, if HIV is acquired, a flu like symptom may develop but never this early, it takes a minimum of 2 weeks to show up.
This is not retrovirus, but could just be due to a different viral infection.
