Hello thanks for dropping us a query.
I can understand that It is really a tough time for both of you to manage things. Initially I would like to explain the normal physiology of pregnancy in brief so that it gets easier for you to in future. For the pregnancy to occur, initially the ovum and the sperm must unite and this happens after sexual intercourse (no barriers to be used).
Normally one ovum is released per month or per cycle from the ovary (called as ovulation) which is taken up by the fallopian tube. The ovum stays in the tube for a limited period of time and waits for the sperm, which enters the tube all the way from vagina, after ejaculation.
Mean while the uterus prepares for the implantation of the fertilized product called conceptis. But if the sperm does not unite, 14-15 days after the ovulation the uterus sheds its layers as bloody tears ( Referred to as period). And then the next cycle begins. So the most important timing of sexual intercourse must be during the ovulatory period. In a 28 day cycle the ovulation happens on the 14 th day from the first day of period. If it is a 30 day cycle then the ovulation happens on the 14th day prior to the next period, it can be calculated by next period date minus 14 days. I need to know a few details like your last period date, how many day cycle, regular or irregular and history of polycystic ovarian disease, in order to give an advise.
Hope to hear from you back
