Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
Your main concern is pain, which you describe as slight located 3 inches above your right knee which began without any trauma or recent change in activity.
Before I make further recommendations, it would help to know 3 things:
1. Kindly attach a picture of both legs in your reply. This way, I can take a look at the bruising and indentation desrcibed.
2. you mentioned that you have high cholesterol and triglycerides. Are you on any medication for these?
Thirdly, rate the pain on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being minimal and 10 being the most severe. Does the pain move anywhere, for e.g. to your hip or knee? How much does this pain impair your ability to walk or your daily routine? Have you tried any pain medication or warm compress over the area, has it provided any relief?
Look forward to your reply.
Patient replied :
1) I have attached a picture. There is no visible bruising, nor can you see the indentation. It is only recognizable via palpation of the area.
2) I am not on medication for cholesterol or tri's.
3) Pain is about a 3 with 10 being severe. The pain is located in the same spot and does not move. I can still walk fine and even run, but there is a mild pain feeling that is slightly uncomfortable. I have not tried any pain medication or warm compresses yet.
Thanks for your response.
Hello,
Thank you for the follow up.
I would recommend taking acetaminophen 325 mg when you feel the pain. But be careful to maintain a gap of atleast 4 to 6 hours between 2 doses.
Also using a warm compress may help.
Hope this helps. Should the problem fail to resolve or gets worse, feel free to follow up with us.
