Hello and thankyou for approaching DoctorSpring with your query.
The headache could be related to the dehydration, due to loss of the body salts and fluid as a result of vomiting and diarrhea. I would suggest that you take oral rehydration fluids frequently. (ORS solution which can be prepared using OTC ORS packet). Alternatively you can drink good amount of water and take a regular bland diet. This should take care of your headache. If you are hydrated well you should be passing clear urine. (not dark coloured)
Rarely the headache can occur as a side effect of the anti nausea / anti emetic medication. i would like to know which medication you have used.
You can continue pain meds 2 times a day if the headaches is persisting. Tylenol is preferred. Just make sure that you are taking it with some food.
Dizziness, Weakness of legs or arms, decreased urine output even after drinking a good amount of water, lack of concentration, extreme fatigue , presence of blood in the stool are the common warning sings and you should get medidcal help if any of these symptoms occur.
Reply as a follow up.
Thankyou

I'm in australia - I'm taking stemitel
I have drank over 1.5 litres of fluids
And laid In bed all day
Hello,
Stemetil can cause headache is some individuals. You should not take the medication any further. You need more fluid intake (in proportionate with diarrhoea) . 1.5 L is not enough. Take ORS solution in between. If you feel really sick do not hesitate to get medical help. Do watch for the dangers signs. Do update me in some time how you are feeling.
Thank you

Hi
I started on hydralyte to help with fluid
I had another 800ml of fluid before bed
I fell asleep
I woke up this morning with a mild headache
And very thirsty
Hello, the fact that your headache is mild , is a good sign. Feeling very thirsty is normal in a diarrhea and vomitting case. Continue the ORS solution intake, with a bland diet and you should get better.
However like I mentioned earlier, if you have any of the warning signs, get medical help.
Hope this has helped.
Thankyou
