Abdominal pain is the pain felt in the abdomen. It may come from organs – within the abdomen or organs adjacent to the abdomen. It is caused by inflammation, distension of an organ, or by loss of blood supply to an organ (IBS). Cause usually depends on the character, physical examination and other tests. Sometimes the pain is atypical, or may mimic other diseases or may change from time to time. It may be from the stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, gall bladder, spleen, pancreas, appendix etc. Sometime pain may arise from the neighboring organ as well.
