On and off pain in chest, CVID, COPD. Cause?

Resolved Question:

My mother is 81, is in decent health and is active. She suffers from COPD (controlled by inhaled and oral steroids), uses oxygen at night and more recently, diagnosed with CVID after several upper resp infections. She has received two infusions of Previgen to treat the CVID. She recently had a CT Scan of her chest in January which was normal. She has been having on and off pain under her left breast/rib. It is sore like a muscle pull and hurts when she coughs and sometimes bends over. It's not terribly painful...but has lingered for 2 months now and comes and goes. It hurts to roll over in bed. In seems to be in the area of her spleen. Would the spleen cause this type of pain? Any other thoughts in that area?

Thank you doctor for your reply. Two more questions regarding the MRI. First, would MRI detect any chest wall recurrence? Second, since my original cancer was Grade 1, does Grade 1 tumors show up on MRI due to the fact they're typically slower growing?

MRI is an imaging study which can detect any structural or anatomical variation.
If there is any recurrence, imaging studies can detect them more sooner than it becomes clinically evident.
Grade does not change detection through MRI.
Hope this addresses your concern.
Regards.

Thank you again Doctor. I appreicate your feedback. Finally, on my report it states "No Paranchymal Enhancement"...What does that mean? Is this a typical finding post-mastectomy?

No parenchymal enhancement denotes no abnormality.
Regards.
