Hodgkin Lymphoma is a curable malignancy. I hope the histopathology was confirmed with an IHC (Immunohistochemistry) test.
PET CT scan is to find out if you have any other foci of the disease, for staging the disease.
CT scans are less sensitive than PET CT for the disease. Hence Oncologists all over the world prefer a PET CT scan than a regular CT scan.
Please be assured that the treatment will consist of limited cycles of chemotherapy and Radiation to limited region in case of early stage which shall be identified only by a PET CT scan.
