Mr. Fruechte,
Thankyou for approaching DoctorSpring with your query.
I have gone through you MRI report. Based on the report I do not see the need for surgery at present. I guess that your family physician should be prescribing neuralgic medications. If are not feeling better then you might require a higher dosage or change in the medications. I feel that taking physical therapy along with these medications should help you.
Later you still have an option to see a pain therapist if your symptoms persist.
I can assure you that you do not require surgery as of now.
Feel free to follow up.
Get well soon.
Thankyou

In your opinion is there any concern with the cervical region and the dics pushing into the spinal cord, or is that not a concern at this moment?
Hello again,
At the cervical level, the mild disc bulge/prolapse is definitely not a matter of concern. You just need to continue medicines and start physical therapy.
Please feel free to discuss further.
