In response to your question - a lot depends on the cause of death of one twin.
If the twins are non identical ( dizygotic ) - then generally the other child is quite healthy.
If the twins are identical, even the live baby is at risk.
Can you please elaborate the cause of death of one of the twins - that will help me to guide you better.
Generally, if the other twin is alive, healthy and free from any chromosomal abnormalities or infections or prematurity, there is no reason for it to be jeopardised.
It can definitely live a healthy independent life.
