Resolved question:
Had unprotected sex 9 days into cycle (average 28 day cycle, 25-31 days), partner withdrew. Took Postinor-1 within 6 hours. 5 days after taking postinor (around suspected ovulation time) , I have had relatively heavy bleeding with some cramping, but seems different to regular period bleed. This is the second day of bleeding. Is this withdrawal bleeding? What is the likelihood of pregnancy?

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at Doctorspring.com
Yes, this is a withdrawal bleed.
The likelihood of pregnancy is next to nil, because -
1. Ovulation is not likely on day 9 of your cycle.
2. Withdrawal method was used.
3. Postinor was used very soon.
SO relax, this is a withdrawal bleed.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
Regards.
Thanks very much for the answer, it is reassuring. How long can I expect this withdrawal bleeding, and will it interrupt my regular cycle? I'm expecting my regular period on the 8th of Feb. If I miss this period or it's over 10 days late should I worry?
The withdrawal bleeding can last from 3 - 5 days.
Yes, normally the expected period is altered in terms of timing or flow by the Postinor.
If you miss your period by over 10 days, just take a pregnancy test.
Regards.
