Hello.
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Firstly since you used protection, and if you used it properly it is absolutely unlikely that she can get pregnant. Pregnancies can only occur if there is a condom tear or if it is not worn properly. I presume in your case both these scenarios can be safely ruled out.
And you also mentioned that she got her period later that month. So there is no way she can be pregnant with your baby. If periods happen pregnancy gets ruled out at that very moment.
If you had only one encounter and no intercourse after her periods, then the baby is definitely not yours.
Please let me know if you have any other queries,
Regards.
Patient replied :
Yes as far as I know there were no tears in the condom and it was used properly. One other thing that concerns me though is she did tell me today that she was 5 or 6 weeks pregnant and I know it has been over 9 weeks since her and I had sex which would rule me out as far as the child being my baby but she it's also been around 5 or 6 weeks since she said she has had a miscarriage which makes me wonder if she really did have one in the first place. Is it possible to get pregnant again that soon right after having a miscarriage?
Hello.
Yes it is possible to get pregnant soon after miscarriage or abortion.
The only thing that is slightly surprising is that you had sex with her on 10th July.
Then she got her period later that month. And again for her pregnancy to be possible she needs to have sex around her ovulation time which is 2 weeks from the day she started bleeding. So considering she had ovulation after 2 weeks, on august 1st effectively her pregnancy will be maximum 1 week old.
See i will put it up so that its easy for you.
July 10th : Protected Intercourse.
Assuming july 12th : she started her period.
So she will ovulate around july 25th and she can't get pregnant before that. NO WAY.
So on august 1st effectively her pregnancy was 1 week old.
So according to her a week later she had miscarriage, so effectively pregnancy was 2 weeks old.
Its very rare to have a miscarriage within 2 weeks in a pregnancy. So it is confusing. However without physically examining her it's not right to make a comment on whether she had it at the first place.
Hope this was clear,
Regards.
Patient replied :
She told me she had 3 miscarriages before this last one so I suppose it could happen I was just surprised that she had one that fast and then turned around and got pregnant again so quickly my concern is if she is being truthful about all of this and how much I can trust what she has told me. She has never indicated to me that she thinks I'm the father of her child either now or from the previous pregnancy she said she had before then I guess it safe to assume I'm not the father?
Hello.
Yes from the history and the dates you gave to me, there is no way you can be the father.
