Resolved question:
Hi , im 40 years old patientold male , i had a hair transplant a month ago , i had 3 PRP sessions before the transplant for 3 months and one PRP session 10 days after the transplant . im thinking of using Revivogen on my whole head for the rest of my life to protect the transplanted hair and whats left of my hair . so my questions are :
1- is it ok to use revivogen only after one month since the transplant ? even on the transplanted area ?
2- if its ok to use revivogen , should i wait to see the PRP results first , since PRP results usually takes time ( months as i red online) ?
3- do you see me using revivogen is a good thing? I know that my hair will shed while using revivogen and will grow back stronger as i red online , i know it will not grow new hair , but atleast keeping whats left . Thank you .

Hello.
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
Here are the answers to your questions:
1- is it ok to use revivogen only after one month since the transplant ? even on the transplanted area ?
A: At this point of time, there are no clinical trials that have been published which show Revivogen to be a recommended agent post hair transplant. Therefore, you should use it with caution. It is best to use Minoxidil 2% solution on the scalp after 1 month of a hair transplant.
2- if its ok to use revivogen , should i wait to see the PRP results first , since PRP results usually takes time ( months as i red online) ?
A: PRP usually does not show results! These are false claims and there have been many litigations against PRP use for hair loss. Since you have had a hair transplant, this is the only proven thing that is going to provide you with results.
3- do you see me using revivogen is a good thing? I know that my hair will shed while using revivogen and will grow back stronger as i red online , i know it will not grow new hair , but atleast keeping whats left
A: I would definitely advocate Minoxidil just to ensure faster growth of your hair. Transplanted hairs are hormonally resistant therefore you do not need to 'protect' them using formulations. They usually last during the lifetime of the individual.
Hope this was helpful,

Hi doctor , thank you for the reply , so what i undrestood is that you don't want me to use anything except for minoxidil , but why 2% and not 5% ? and why i want to use revivogen is because that its a DHT blocker , and my transplant doctor during transplantation took follicles even from the top of the sides and top of the back of my head near crown , which might me affected to DHT , so i was afraid that the transplanted hair from these areas would fall in the future . Thank you
Hello,
It's a good idea to start with 2% and then move up to 5%. Remember, FDA approves the use of 2% but not 5% so I always begin with 2% and then subsequently move up to 5%. DHT blockers cannot prevent long standing loss of hair, this depends on the hormonal sensitivity of the hair. The natural process is thinning of hair in the scalp with age. Please remember that the product is herbal and there are no controlled clinical trials to support its use, however you may still use it if you feel like.
Regards.
