Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
It is always advisable to wait for 6 weeks to get a conclusive result. Sometimes the test reports can be negative if tested this early.
So, you should repeat the test at the end of 6 weeks.
These tests are definitely reliable, but the time-frame is extremely important. HIV PCR test is the most sensitive test, and if it is negative at the end of 17 days, it is likely to remain negative. So, do not worry.
Regards.
Patient replied :
In my case RNA pcr test done after 12days .is this reliable? And now I go for which test?
No, at 12 days it can't be as reliable.
Please repeat the RNA PCR at 6 weeks for confirmation.
Regards.
Patient replied :
Now which test give me early results
I clearly mentioned in the first post, you can go ahead and get the 4th generation test done, but we won't consider it 100 % negative, if it is done before 1 month.
PCR RNA can be detected as early as 2 weeks, but in most cases, it takes 3-4 weeks to show up, and is the earliest that can be done.
So, at least wait for 4 weeks, and repeat the RNA PCR.
Regards.
