Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Considering your last exposure was 02.03.2015, you need to wait at least for 6 weeks, before the tests are valid. Sometimes the PCR test can take up to 6 weeks to be positive, if there is an infection. Since the marriage date is fixed, the best that you can do is get yourself tested again on 02.04.2015, 1 month from the exposure, as PCR test after a month, if negative, rules out the disease 95 % of the times. It will be 100 % conclusive only if you can wait for 6 weeks.
Hope this was helpful,
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards.

Hi Dr. Deepu,

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have reviewed your entire case history, and considering that your last exposure was on 16th of Feb, and you took the p24 antigen after 4 weeks, HIV can be ruled out. HIV RNA and p24 antigen are the first signs of HIV in the serum, and in normal people, the p24 or RNA test is positive within a month, following exposure. Some doctors prefer waiting up to 3 months for the conventional antigen-antibody tests, because in some patients with immunocompromised status, it may take up to 3 months for HIV to be detected via blood tests.
So, please do not worry. Just for a 100 % conclusive result, you can repeat the test around the 5th or 6th of april which is nearly 6 weeks. You can repeat the RNA test and it should be negative. You do not need any further testing beyond that.
Hope this was helpful,
