Hello.
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com.
I understand your concern.
From your query I presume that only one leg is affected with pain (correct me if I am wrong). Since you have been doing Pilates I assume, the soreness is due to some overexertion causing muscle fatigue and accumulation of lactic acid leading to pain. With movement, the lactic acid is washed off, decreasing the pain. However, I would like additional information in order to give a definitive opinion.
1. Since when do you have the pain?
2. What is the character of the pain? Is it of throbbing/ shooting type or just a vague ache?
3. Is there tenderness of the calf?
4. Is there any swelling of the affected limb?
5. Any history of smoking?
6. Do you have any medical illness?
Please reply to the above in the follow up.
Awaiting your response,
Regards.

Hello.
Thank you for the additional information.
Your response rules out other conditions of concern.
You seem to have Myalgia (muscle pain) due to over exertion. The cause is as I have explained previously.
I suggest you take the following measures.
1. Please avoid strenuous workouts for 1-2 weeks.
2. You can apply hot compresses to relieve the pain when at rest.
3. Please take an OTC painkiller like Tylenol or Advil (only on a full stomach), 2 times daily, for 5 days.
This should give good relief.
I hope this was helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you any further.
Regards.
