Resolved question:
I've been having this yellowish crumbly gunky stuff around the opening of my vagina and I'm not sure what it is. Other people have said its smegma, but I haven't been getting it around my clitoris. They said maybe it was a reaction to the soap. I only use summers eve down there but I heard warm water is enough so I've just been doing that and it hasn't seemed to be getting better. Others say it's probably discharge but I don't think it is. I think it's the wrong texture. Can you tell me what this might be?

This does not look like smegma. As you pointed out, it is not concentrated just around the clitoris. Also, it is quite profuse in amount. It DOES look like a vaginal infection.
What is strange is that you have not reported any other symptom of infection - pain, burning during intercourse , burning micturition, itching, redness, foul smell in the discharge etc.
But this is definitely a discharge - and that too suspiciously infectious. I would have said this was a yeast infection or BV.
I would ask you to have an internal check up ( per vaginum and per speculum ) and a vaginal swab also, to confirm an infection if it exists.
Also get your blood sugars tested.
Meanwhile, please do NOT use any kind of soaps / cleansers / gels / douches / perfumed or medicated tampons, condoms, toilet paper etc.
Just clean with lukewarm water and pat dry gently.
Avoid scratching / handling / rubbing the area.
Handle it minimally.
Change undergarments frequently - stick to cotton underpants, avoid keeping the private parts damp for too long.

It is pretty painful actually. I guess I didn't even think about the pain through my worries about the discharge. I've never been to an OBGYN. What should I say? I'm nervous
Given the pain, it is again pretty indicative of an infection.
There is nothing to worry - it is pretty common to have vaginal infections.
Just visit the doctor and present your main complaint of excessive vaginal discharge, and say that you want to rule out any infection.
Avoid sex or use protection until you are examined and treated.
