According to literature, indeed, there is increase in interpedicular distance at upper lumber vertebrae with age but lower interpedicular distance remains same with age.So i am doubtful about the report ,there should be some cases in IPD & it should be more at old age. IPD generally lowers due to Achondroplasia, or dysplasia, otherwise its same with age. Widening apart from age can be noted in a lot of conditions such as Syringomyelia, ankylosing spondylitis, Marfan syndrome, ( e.t.c)
