Your neurologist is partly correct. However, I would feel that a few more medications could be used to make you feel better.
Trihexiphenydyl can used to reduce tremors and drooling.
Amantadine can be used to reduce rigidity and slowness.
Entacapone can be used to potentiate the effects of sinemet and reduce the side effects.
Finally, when medications do not work much, then, there is a role of surgery- deep brain stimulation (DBS).
So, I request you to discuss with your doctor regarding the above suggestions.
