Resolved question:
What does the following ultrasound report mean: The liver is homogeneous. No focal abnormalities are identified. There are two hypoechoic nodules that may represent primary lymph nodes near the portal hepatitis?

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
Your ultrasound scan report says that your liver is normal. But it says that at the undersurface of the liver where the blood vessels enter and the bile duct exit ( this part is called the porta hepatitis), there are two lymph nodes present. Sometimes this may represent malignancy of the nearby structure like stomach, pancreas etc.
I would advice you get a CT scan of the abdomen done to get a better picture. I hope that answers your question. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K
