I have noted your symptoms. I agree that tingling and peripheral neuropathy can occur due to metronidazole, however, both legs would be affected in that case. So, in your case, the symptoms may not be related to metronidazole.
Possibly could be related to pressure on the nerves with too much rest. If the symptoms persist, or if you develop radiating pain from back to leg, we may need to consider sciatica.

Ok - woke up and my right hand fell asleep (pins and needles) - shook that off - ]
possible neck - poor blood circulation? I have been working in bed on a computer in a not so good position.

No, I don't think so. It's normal to have pins and needles after sleep in a bad position for long duration.
