Tightness or dull pain in left hip flexor region

Resolved question:
Hello,

I have a dull pain or tightness in my left hip flexor region, and I am concerned about it being related to clots. I am a male, 29, 175 lbs. I am not very active and my work is at a desk job for 8 hours a day. My mother has factor V leiden and I think I am heterozygous. Should I be worried it might lead to DVT or an embolism?

PS - I do not know if this is related but a year ago I got pre arthritis in my left toe

Hello,

Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com. To consult you best, please answer the following the questions pertinent to your medical history.
Do you have swelling redness in the lower limb?
Do you have any other risk factor like fracture in lower limb?
Do you have past history of dvt?

You could get a color doppler of the left lower limb veins and if its normal then possibility of dvt and embolism is very low.

Please reply as follow-up.

Patient replied :

I have no swelling or redness that I see. I have early onset arthritis in my left big toe, and I've sprained my ankle a few times when I was more active. I also have an old knee injury that left me with a torn meniscus, but it is near the MCL and does not interfere with day-to-day activities. I sit a lot, and the sensation I am getting primarily happens when I am in a chair or sitting cross-legged on my bed. I have had no history with DVT, but my mother does and she still wears a stocking.

Hello again,

Thanks for the reply.

Your history doesn't seem to be like a dvt. It seems like muscular pain.
But you may get the venous doppler of the left lower limb and clarify the doubt.

Hope this helps, I would be glad to answer any follow-up queries.
