Hello,
Thank you for your medical query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Normally in bowel or colon cancer, there will be no growth that protrudes outside.
Hence, from the symptoms you mentioned, it still sounds like hemorrhoids. Since you have bloody stools, this needs to be examined unfortunately. The grading can thus be found, and appropriate treatment can be initiated. I will strongly recommend you to get a general surgeon's appointment. I can understand your apprehensions, but this will be helpful in the long run.
Regards,
Dr. Jay

Thank you for your response.
What is likely to be the cause of the bloody stools? Also in terms of the growth which is quite large and obstructing the anal passage so causing fresh bleeding on each bowel movement will it require surgery?
Also the bloating and lower back pain could they be linked to the growth?
Hello,
Hemorrhoids in itself can cause bloody stools.
The commonest cause of hemorrhoids is digestion issues and constipation, hence bloating and low back pain can be experienced. If the growth is big, which seems to be the case, hemorrhoidectomy is the best option. It will need surgery.
The surgeon may ask for a colonoscopy to rule out any chances of colon cancer with a positive family history.
