Hello and Thankyou for approaching DoctorSpring with your query. I have gone through the website link you have posted and the through the contents of systolex.
My advise to you would be to continue Exforge 5mg/160mg, as directed by your physician. This modern anti hypertensive drugs, have undergone multiple clinical trials where they were proven to be effective and their potential side effects were tested, before they were approved to be prescribed. This drugs have been tested over time and are effective in treating patients. You will need to monitor your blood pressure periodically and adjust dosage. If you know your current blood pressure , and the blood pressure at the time time of starting the medication please let me know. You can reoly as a followup.
Hypertension is a chronic condition and has to be controlled with medication.
It has be established by the American Heart Assoction, European Society of Hypertension/ European Society of Cardiology and other associations that blood pressure reduction is the major determinant of reduction in cardiovascular risk in both young and elderly patients
Hence my advise to you would be, always be regular with your anti hypertensive medications, take the dose as prescribed by your doctor, if your feel uneasy discuss it with your doctor and he will do the required dosage changes depending on your blood pressure readings and other physical and laboratory findings.
As for the herbal product, it will NOT play any major role in controlling your B.P. I would advise you to stop taking it, as some of the ingredients MAY have side effects when taken over long periods of time. There is no evidence or proof to say that it is effective. It is not US FDA approved either. So better not to take chances.
I hope this has helped. Please feel free to follow up with any further query.
Let me know the blood pressure readings.
Thankyou
