Hello
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I can understand your concern.
It to be a bacterial infection that you have developed.
I would request you to send a picture.
Meanwhile, I would recommend that you take a short course of an oral antibiotic for a week.
This will help in resolving the bacterial infection.
You will need a prescription for the antibiotic like azithromycin.
You can apply neosporin/muciprocin cream over it twice a day which will help in resolving the infection too.
Please let me know if you have any queries.
Take care

I've attached a couple. Thanks!
Hello,
You can apply Mupirocin as mentioned and also take Azithromycin.
It will resolve in 3-4 days time.
Regards.

Thanks. I'm not sure I'll be able to see a doctor in the next 2 weeks. How urgent is this and can I get something over the counter in the mean time?
No, unfortunately, OTC won't help here.
It needs Mupirocin ointment.
If not, you have to just leave it alone, ensure the area is clean and avoid friction.
Regards.
