Resolved question:
Hello, I have been on birth control since November 2013. For the first three months i had no symptoms. Then I started getting breast tenderness and constipation. This has eased some, but there are still random days where I have breast tenderness. About 2.5 months ago I started feeling very tired more often. This has been better in the past weeks. My fiance lives out of town so I do not see him that often. We are very careful about not getting pregnant. I have never missed a pill and we use condoms 90% of the time and always withdraw. I have taken several pregnancy tests and had my period twice since seeing him in the beginning of June. I have taken Plan B twice once in april and once in june. I do not believe that I am pregnant. But my new thing is that i have been having headaches daily for about a week and cramping (which is possibly due to my mild constipation). I wanted to know if it is possible that i am still experiencing birth control symptoms. Is it possible that i am just more effected than most people? also, could taking plan b on top of my birth control have screwed with my system a bit?

Hello
Thanks for writing to DoctorSpring.com with your health concern.
Some women are more sensitive to birth control than others. The symptoms do match with those of birth control .
And yes, using birth control PLUS withdrawal method PLUS condoms PLUS Plan B is overdoing it !
There is no need to use Plan B if you are on regular birth control, it just adds up side effects and negates the benefits.
Just take a break off birth control for a month, and see if it makes you feel any better.
You can then switch to another brand , with lower hormones, or a different method, if the symptoms are very bothersome.
ALl the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
PRegnancy is out of question with your regular periods, and several tests.
