Hello,
Thank you for asking your query at DoctorSpring.
Yes, it is generally safe to take Viagra. Especially since you have used it without adverse effects, it is safe. I assume you not on any medication for any chronic disease. But let’s see whether you really need Viagra at all in the first place.
Could please provide some additional information in certain matter if it is acceptable to you.
1. You say 9 out 10 times there is no problem getting erection, BUT you are not able to maintain it. This happens 9 out of 10 times ? (Please correct me if I have read it wrong)
2. For how long are you having this issue ?
3. How many sexual partners do you have ? If more than one does this happen with all of your partners ? How was this in the past ?
4. Does the problem occur all of a sudden as in after "one night when I could not perform"
5. Do you get early morning erections ?
You can reply as a followup
Thank you

Hello Doctor,
Yes I am not under any medication at all. However, please note that my father has heart disease and high blood pressure, he is the only one in the family to have it though, and that's only because he did not watch his diet.
To reply to your questions:
1- Yes, I'd say I have had quite a lot of sexual encounters for my age, I could only remember not having this problem a couple of times. And like I said there is absolutely no problem getting aroused, it's just that I can't maintain it.
2- Honestly I had this problem the very first time I was in sexual intercourse. So about four years ago.
3- Well I've had quite a few sexual partners, some were just one night stands, others were more than once, it happened with all my partners except one. Currently I have a steady girlfriend and it still happens.
4- No this problem is persistent, it happens almost every time.
5- Yes I get them every day, and I get erections when something arouses me as well with no problem. This problem only happens in bed with a partner.
I don't know what causes this issue, I'm guessing anxiety and being worried about how well I am going to perform but it keeps happening even to partners that I am usually very confident around, so I don't know. Viagra did help a lot, but obviously if there is a more natural solution I would definitely go for it.
Thank you so much for your fast feedback!
Hello,
Thank you for providing the additional information.
As I said earlier, Viagra is a safe medication. However I suggest you should undergo a baseline evaluation for erectile dysfunction. Your symptoms appear to be anxiety induced. But certain features require further evaluation. A thorough evaluation and knowing that everything is anatomically and functionally normal will be the best anxiety reliever for you. S. Testosterone, LH, A duplex ultrasound will be the first line investigation. You can discuss with your Doctor about these options.
Meanwhile you can take Viagra as and when required. But please note Viagra won’t be definitive solution. You should undergo the above tests at the earliest.
Hope this helps
Thank you
