Hello
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
You have been quite regular with the pill.
A slip of a couple of hours now and then makes no difference as long as you have not actually missed any pills.
So yes, you are protected, and you can definitely start having unprotected sex, without any fear of pregnancy.
If you stop taking the pills now, you will lose protection, and have irregular cycles again.
If you wish to skip your period, there is a very simple way.
Just avoid taking the inactive pills.
As long as you are on active pills of the pack ( continue the next pack back to back without taking the inactive hormone free pills of the earlier pack ), you will not have a period.
Hope that was clear enough ?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care.

Okay thank you so much! Really makes me feel better. One more question lets just say I stop taking my pills on July 6 usually I get my period around the middle of the month so will I still get it? And if not can it just stay that way till after my vacation and after vacation I start a new pack?
Hi,
Thank you for the appreciation.
Once you stop the pills, you would get your next period as expected.
But since you have irregular periods, there is really no way of saying how the cycle would behave once you get off the pills.
I hope you understand that.

Thank you so much!
Am I able to write you whenever I have questions?
This consult will be open for a month, you can post one more follow-up when you have.
Regards.

Hello Doctor,
Quick follow up question.. Yesterday I had unprotected sex.
Is it safe that I stop taking my birth control pills now?
I'm not sure if i start to ovulate as soon as i stop taking them, just want to make sure it's safe for me to stop.
Thanks,
To stay protected, never stop a pill pack midway.
Stop when the pack is over, and you are protected until your next period.
