Thanks for your advice. Does walking to work make inflammation worse? How much exercise is recommended?

Hello,
Thank you for your follow up.
Since the pain is still present, I would advise against heavy exercise or long distance walking. Moderate levels of exercise is recommended to prevent stiffness. Rather than giving you a number, I would suggest stop right before you feel exhausted, do not push yourself atleast while you are on pain medications. You mentioned that the pain is currently restricting your walking, aggravating it further by walking to work (if you work more than a mile away) is not advisable. Once the pain disappears resume your normal levels of activity.
Using physiotherapy instead to gain the desired level of movement is a safer alternative.
Hope this helps, feel free to discuss further
