Hi doctor. I am a 24 years old male and am sexually active. I used to have sex with my girlfriend only. But recently, it happened so, that I had sex with one of my ex-girlfriends. I doubt that she has got genital herpes. I simply discarded it, while having sex. After that, I had sexual contact with my present partner too. After a few weeks, now, I felt very nervous and went for a HSV test to rule out a chance. Unfortunately, I was found positive. But the disturbing part is that my girlfriend is found negative. How come it be true? We had sexual contact many times and all sessions were unprotected. Can having sex while on pills help her not to get affected with HSV?
