Red/pink bumps on shaft of penis. Treatment?

Resolved Question:

Hi,

For the past few months I am suffering from outbreak of red or pink bumps on the shaft area of my penis. They are usually around 2-3 bumps usually next to each other or an inch or two apart. I tried popping them but nothing really happens, they do not hurt and I only realise they are there through seeing them, if maybe some very minor itching. They come in pretty random locations but the same general area. They are red or pink bumps, they don't seem to have anything in them or be open on the top, they can have a slightly pearly color to them. The bumps last for a few days or a week or longer and then kind of just fade away.

The picture is of a recent couple that look pretty similar to all the others, I have slightly irritated it squeezing them.

Thank you

Hello

Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com

I can understand your concern .

You seem to be having herpes. Are there fluid filled blisters? I would recommend you to send me pics of the pearly white lesions that you mentioned.

The treatment for herpes would be taking oral anti viral medication called valacyclovir.

You can apply Mupirocin cream twice a day on the lesions which would help in resolving them.

Please let me know if you have any queries.

Regards.

Patient replied :

They are not really fluid filled as such, nothing seems to come out of them. When I say pearly, i mean like the picture attached, they are pink or red dots maybe with a hint of lighter color in the middle.

Hello

Thanks for your reply.

This however does seem to be herpes.

I would recommend that you take a course of oral anti viral medication valacyclovir when you get new lesions . It will require a prescription from your doctor.

I would recommend application of Mupirocin cream twice a day for a week.

Please let me know if you have any queries
