Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
There are some people who sweat excessively and are also referred to as salty sweaters. It is a normal physiological response of the body to work outs or activities. There is no such upper limit of excreting salt. However it is recommeded that salty sweaters like you need to drink a lot of water, and also have adequate salt ( sodium ) in their diet. Some studies claim, meals with good concentration of salt, actually can reduce the amount of salt excreted through sweat. This is not conclusive, but research is going on.
I will like to reinforce this is nothing abnormal. The only disease where excessive salt can be lost and sweat appears to be sticky is Cystic Fibrosis, which affects children and young adults. Since you're 58, that should not be considered as a possible diagnosis.
Please feel free to discuss further queries,
Regards.
