Prostate cancer connection with catheter infection from over 25 years ago?

Resolved question:
I have a question about myself… back in 1983 I was involved in a head-on collision car accident which I suffered greatly for this but my life was spared and I had a catheter in me during my unconscienceness (sp?). After this accident and recovery I had painful burning while urinating and I told this to my doctor at the time and they just have me a medication for anti-biotic but it didn't go away. I was in high school at the time so I didn't want to complain as I was just happy to be alive. Now I am over 44yrs old with still having this burning urination and was researching the prostate and wondering if that has anything to do with problems with prostate cancer, etc…???

Hello,
Do you mean to say that you are having this burning urination since 1983 ? If so you should be more concerned about your kidney than prostate.

This pain can be due to
1.Chronic Urinary tract infection
2.Chronic Cystits (Bladder infection)
3.Chronic Prostate infection (rare)

The chance for a cancer to arise out of your infection (if persisting ) is less. However you should consult a doctor and get some tests - like Kidney functions tests, Urine Culture, and Ultrasongoram of abdomen done.

Thank you
