Hello.
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Can you upload the exact ultrasound scan report ?
Also, the date of your last menstrual period.. and do you have regular cycles ?
What is your age, and prior obstetric history ( history of prior pregnancies ) ?
Please do write back with these details, so that I can guide you in a better manner.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Take care.

Hello.
I need to know on what date was this scan done, and was this a transvaginal scan or an abdominal scan ?
Awaiting you reply,
Regards.

Patient replied :

ita abdominal usg done on 11th sep

Hello.
You should have been around 10 weeks by your dates, but the growth lag is seen by 2 weeks.
Also, there is a small amount of bleeding around the sac which carries your baby.
So there is a chance of miscarriage if the amount of bleeding increases.
However, the positive thing is that there is heartbeat seen in the embryo, which is a very favourable sign.
If you take due precautions, there chances that the bleeding would stop and the baby would grow normally.
Take lots of rest.
Avoid stress, intercourse, travelling, standing for prolonged periods, bending or lifting weights, emotional triggers etc.
Take all medications.
Also in addition to progesterone and HCG, you should be taking daily folic acid tablets too.
Get a repeat scan done after a week to know the status.
NEVER get abdominal scans done in early pregnancy, they are most unreliable.
Get a transvaginal pelvic scan done.
Keep me posted.
Wish you luck with your pregnancy.

Patient replied :

Thanks mam ...i m following all the precautions...do this 2 week lag really has any significance ...is it something to worry about

If the bleeding resolves, and the baby continues to grow at a normal pace, then the 2 week lag will not have any significance.
Dont worry.
Regards.
