Hello,
Thank you for writing to DoctorSpring.com with your health concern. Congratulations on your pregnancy !
Regarding the medications -
1. Folinext is folic acid which is a must during pregnancy.
2. Sandocal is Calcium which is also recommended.
3. Bizfer is iron, again recommended during pregnancy.
4. Thyronorom, if prescribed by your doctor, is commonly taken.
According to me, if her pregnancy is normally progressing, and no risk factor has been observed, then she is taking proper medications, as per international standards.
Only her protein intake should be high, or she can take Protein powder ( Ensure, Mama Protinex etc ) two teaspoons twice a day with milk.
She will be able to feel baby movements lightly from 22 - 24 weeks onwards, and proper kicking movements from the 28th week onwards.
Wish you all the best.
Please feel free to discuss further

Doctor, Thanks for your valuable suggestions. You had provided details regarding all the medicines she is consuming except Susten 200 which she is consuming twice/day till date, kindly provide your views on the same.Provided that her EDD is 17.3.14, can you specify the approximate period when she will deliver.
Susten ( 200 ) is a brand of progesterone.
It is given to support the growing pregnancy and to prevent preterm labour.
If there are no risk factors in her pregnancy or history ( preterm labour, bleeding or spotting in pregnancy, high risk pregnancy after treatment for subfertility etc ) - then there is no need to take that drug.
However, it is quite safe, and many doctors continue it till the third trimester, without any side effects.
Regarding her EDD - 17.3.14, most women go into spontaneous labour a week before or after the EDD, so you can expect normal labour pains to start anywhere between 39 - 41 weeks.
All the best.
Sorry as I missed commenting on Susten in the initial answer.
Take care.
Patient replied :
Is medicine Duvadilan is required for her at this stage(24 weeks going on)and she is going on steadily.Kindly have your comments. When the next USG to be performed as the last USG done on 22.10.2013.
Hello again,
If there is no risk of preterm labour, then there is no need for taking Duvadilan.
Next ultrasound should ideally be done in the third trimester ( between 32 - 36 weeks ) - if clinical examination on every obstetrical visit reveals no suspicion.
In case of any problems she has, or any suspected by the doctor, it can be done earlier too, at 28 weeks.
All the best.
