I am Sheuli Chatterjee. I have been suffering from recurring urinary track infection since January ,2013. I visited to a gynecologist. She advice to take a medicine with a composition of "levofloxacin 500" namely "ALOV 500" for six months.
I have completed the 6 months antibiotic course, and I am quite ok now. But it is seen that my physical/health condition is deteriorating after every periodical cycle. Now I am 29 years old patientold married woman having no children. After every period I feel so much weakness and a dullness of skin. I become so much lean and thin to take an issue now .
I am also patient thyroid and have been taking a medicine namely "Eltroxin-50" for about 5 years.

Since how long have you been trying to conceive ?
ALso, it is shocking - Levofloxacin is prescribed only for a maximum of 7 days.
How come you were taking it for 6 months continuously ?

1) Are you having regular periods ?
Yes, I have Regular periods. But, exceptionaly, my bleeding was much less in this ongoing month, i.e. only one and a half day .
2) Since how long have you been trying to conceive ?
We were not tying to conceive, as, my Urinary Track Infection was occuring frequently. and the doctor was asked to continue 'ALEVO- 500' for six month unless I try to conceive. Then we decide to continue the Tablet for Six Months and not to conceive. But now we are thinking for conceive. But I affraid to my previous Infections history.

Yes I remain Sexually active during Ovulation.
What precaution should we take before conceive. And what should we do if the Urinary Track Infection return.
My husband was tested as nonCarrier of Thalassemia, Should I have to test thalassemia also ?
Since the infection is gone, please stop worrying about it.
You have regular cycles.
Remain sexually active from day 10 to day 20 each month ( counting 1st day of bleeding as day 1 ).
If you fail to conceive after 1 year of trying in this manner, please have the evaluation in the form of -
Semen analysis of your husband.
Follicular monitoring and hormonal tests (FSh, LH, TSH, Prolactin, AMH ) for yourself.
Start folic acid tablets.
Think positive and do yoga daily.
Get your blood sugars tested.
Drink plenty of water to avoid urinary infection.
