Hello,
Thank you for choosing DoctorSpring.
This is bit unusual. I have discussed your concern with our team Neurologist. I would require some additional information form you so that I can provide my best and learned opinion.
1. Do you have history of any medical/ surgical / neurological illness ?
2. Was the exercise recommended by a Doctor ?
3. Do you have any backpain ?
4. Do you have any weakness of legs / thighs
5. Are you aware when you need to pass urine ? or is it like it just happens ?
6. Is there any hesitancy ?
Please note : This appears to be a Neurological emergency (possible Conus Medullaris). Hence your first priority should be to get to ER / Medical help.
Thank you

I do not have any family neurological diseases and have never been diagnosed with any disease to that nature.
I did the kegel exercises because I heard its healthy for everyone to do it, and one day I clearly overdid it the whole day.
I can walk and use my legs fine, like normal.
I am aware when i pass both urine and bowel movements.when I do urine, if I try to stop the flow using my pelvic floor, it is extremely unpleasant. It is even worse when doing bowel movements.
I think it's an overworked muscle or I've torn a ligament that's part of the muscle. It seems to be getting better but slightly
Hello,
In the first consult you have mentioned "lack of control of urine and bowel movements". I assume what you meant is " if I try to stop the flow using my pelvic floor, it is extremely unpleasant."
Well, in medical science "lack of control of urine and bowel movements" signifies a spinal cord damage or stroke. But I think you do not have a lack of control , but rather an unpleasant sensation.
This should resolve by rest for 4- 6 days. Get medical help if there is any new symptom or worsening symptom. You may want to put of doing Keigel for some tome (1 month or so). its
Thank you

Hello Dr Sebastian,
Thank you for the replies. I have done some research and I believe I actually have hemorrhoids. I guess I didn't do those exercises properly! Never had them before but it seems pretty clear that I have it now - looking at symptoms posted on sites like webmd, mayoclinic. Stools have been excruciatingly difficult to pass, and they are small stools that comes out - although I didn't check to see if there is blood this morning, it FELT like it would've easily bled. I have to strain to pass stool and the rectum will immediately flare up once I sit on the toilet. I have bought Preparation H from the pharmacy, and it seems to alleviate the pain a little. Do you know anything OTC or home remedy that can help out with this process heal faster? How long do hemorrhoids usually last? What should I do now about it?
I am a healthy 23y old male,5'9, 142 lbs, exercise everyday, incorporate lots of fiber in diet, etc.
Hello,
Preparation H can help to an extend. If possible use a gloved finger to 'reduce' piles / haemorrhoids if it is protruding. I cannot stress enough how important is high fiber food. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/high-fiber-foods/NU00582 . Try to reach 40gm/day. Do not over strain. While doing exercise, make sure you are breathing in and breathing out properly. Holding in pressure will worsen the piles.
Drink plenty of water. DO NOT strain in the toilet. You may require prescription stool softners if there is no resolution with these methods.
Hope this helps
