Resolved question:
I was diagnosed with tendonitis in left wrist one month ago from a motorcycle accident that happened several months ago where I was thrown forward over handle bars. Prescribed muscle relaxer and steroid. Took full prescriptions as required, daily for 2 weeks. This helped but I ran out of the medication and I'm still having same issues with pain. Please advise.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Tendinitis can take up to 6 months to heal, and typically the treatment involves rest, ice, elevation, as well as non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs. A period of one month rest is advised, limiting the movements of the affected joint as much as possible. Following which gradually exercise as well as physical therapy aids in recovery. What muscle relaxers are you on? Steroids are given as injections, if the pain does not settle down or worsen. You are already on steroids. Has there been no change in the level of discomfort following the use of medicines?
Finally if it does not resolve, other alternative methods such as PRP or prolotherapy needs to be initiated.
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards.
