Resolved question:
I have a dull sharp "stinging" pain while breathing in or exhaling deeply in my left nostril. They dull pain extends from my left nostril to my left ear. The ache in my ear has become more pronounced over the past couple of days, but the pain in general extends from left nostril to left ear. I also feel a bit of pain extending to my left jaw (lower) and down towards my collar bone. This has been going on for the past 2 weeks. Weirdly enough, the pain comes and goes throughout the day, but is most pronounced at night. No drainage, or cold/sinus symptoms other than the ones described above. I feel great otherwise. Tried sinus relief pills with no results.

Thank you for asking your query.
The pricking pain you are experiencing is typical of Eustachian tube inflammation. Eustachian tube is a small soft tissue tube which connects your inner ear to the nose.
It seems your left tube is bit congested and inflamed causing pain while moving jaw, or chewing or even yawning. This could be due a allergic reaction or due to an infection.
I would recommend you to the following.
1. Steam inhalation thrice daily. Tolerable level of heat. You can use a steamer if need.
2. Cover your ears/head during sleep or when exposed to cold
3. Occasionally swallow your saliva. This movement will open the E- Tube and relieve the pressure.
4. A warm washcloth or a heating pad set on low can help with ear pain. Put a cloth between the heating pad and your skin so you don't burn your skin
Try these measures at home. Even after 3-4 days if there is no improvement of the symptoms you need to visit a doctor /ENT surgeon.
Thank you
Hope this helps.
