Hello and thankyou for approaching DoctorSpring with your query.
I have gone through your case and reports and understand your concern. Pain in the scrotum should not lead to increased frequency in urination unless there is an infection. I have gone through your urine tests and they are absolutely normal. So that rules out any infection.
Pain in the scrotum will not affect your fertility profile and frequent sexual intercourse would not lead to testicular pain.
I would advise you to get the following tests done
1) An ultrasound of bilateral scrotum with Color Doppler.
2) Semen analysis
For now you can use scrotal and take the OTC tablet Ibuprofen after a meal when needed.
I hope this has helped. Feel free to follow up.
Thankyou

Hello Doctor,
Thanks for the response !!!
I had got my semen analysis done few months back which my doctor had mentioned to be normal (Count - 80 million, motility - 40 %). Do I need to get the test again. Moreover please suggest what would ultrasound of bilateral scrotum with Color Doppler detect.
Additionally I had few questions-
1. Are these symptoms common? The reason I am asking is because all my reports are normal. Should I be worried?
2. You did mention that frequency of Sex would not have any relation to my problem. So this should not stop us from trying to conceive right?
3. The current diagnosis says I have overactive bladder. Is this thing curable or does it get worse with time
4.I do experience pain in my pelvic area sometimes. Could it because of overactive bladder syndrome?
Waiting for your response. Thanks for all the help!!!!
Dear Patient,
Color doppler ultrasound is to rule out any problem in scrotum like any trauma or other pathology, as all your tests have been normal. It is nothing to worry.
We can not label someone as overactive bladder syndrome until we have done urodynamic study which is pressure flow study.
You can continue your sexual life as it will not have a relation to this problem.
If you have occasional pain in pelvic region then don't worry it can be due to muscle spasm or congestion as your tests were normal. You can take an OTC tablet Ibuprofen after a meal when required.
No need of getting the semen test again.
I hope this has helped.

Hello Doctor,
Thanks for the response !!!
My last question would be to understand if I can have interstitial cystitis. I have been reading lot of stuff online and lot worried.
Waiting for your response!!! Thanks for all the help
Hello,
No I do not think your symptoms are related to interstitial cystitis. There is no painful urination which is one characteristic symptom of Interstitial cystitis. Your symptoms come under a class of symptom pattern can called LUTS (Lower urinary tract symptoms). For a concrete diagnosis you will require a set of investigations. But many cases they symptoms will resolve on its own. Since your symptoms are of not serious nature and since a baseline evaluation was done you can give it some time couple of weeks to see whether the symptoms are resolving on itsown. If not you might have to undergo further testing and retesting for a STD , Urinary tract infection and other tests.
Hope this helps
Feel free to ask followups
Thank you

Hello Doctor,
Thanks for all your response !!! It has been very helpful
I had visited by doctor again as the pain was concerning me. He did the physical examination again and mentioned that I might have rapture muscle which might be backfiring on my testicles and advised painkillers for couple of weeks.
I wanted to understand if we can have such situation and can it be healed. Moreover can this be reason for my pelvic area pain and frequent urination?
Waiting for your response !!!
Hello,
I am not very convinced by your Doctors explanation. What he meant could be muscular or tendon strain rather than rupture which is a very well possible. You can take a pain medication and observe. As I said give a couple of weeks. If the symptoms persists then only you need further tests.
Thank you
