Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
HSV 1/2 has different spectrum of symptoms, even though there are overlaps.
HSV-1 is contracted more by kissing and transmission of oral secretions, so patient presents with cold sores ( cluster of them, very painful sores, sore throat, increase in size of lymph nodes ).
HSV-2 will have a rash around the genitalia, with eruptions, and sores more focussed on genitalia. Even though HSV-1 can also cause genital sores mostly from oral sex.
I would advise you to get HSV-1/2 IGM antibodies checked, since IGG only indicates past infection.
But most likely, since in 3 weeks you still did not develop any sores or rash, it is unlikely you got the infection.
Are you by any chance aware of the other person's status?
The symptoms you are having are not typical of herpes. So you should not worry.
Regards.

Ok thank you so much Doctor, I will have the blood test and the partner that I have had oral with told me that she didnt have anything.
My last question is any sore of any sort would have to be painful correct ? and is it rare to not have any other symptoms at this point to go undetected ?
Hello,
Yes mostly herpes sores are very painful since they occur in clusters.
And sometimes it takes a long time for symptoms to appear since the immune system can control the first outbreak. Around 30 % of the US population is already infected with HSV-1 by the time they are 25-30. Not everyone manifests the symptoms.
The outbreaks tend to happen mostly in periods of other concurrent infections, or stress or if thee xposure is with someone with an active disease.

Patient replied :
Based off my symptoms what do you think i may have ? or is there not enough information that you can make a determination ?
Hello,
Your symptoms mostly indicate a self limiting viral infection. Random muscle twitchings are not related with joint pain. Joint pains suggest viral infection. It should resolve spontaneously.
Regards.
Patient replied :
So my blood test results came back negative for the hsv 1/2 IGM ....can there still be a possibility of me having herpes ? or dont have anything to worry about ?
Hello,
That's great news.
No herpes is ruled out for you.
There is no further concern. As your doctor, i am very happy for you.
Wish you all the best in future and please be careful.

Dr. Deepu Sebastian.
